Summer Adventures!

Some people pace out all the summer adventures to enjoy all summer. Some people like to see how many summer activities they can cram into 10 days. We fall into the later category apparently.

SO over the past 10 days, we have done VBS, gone to the beach, played in pools, went to a baseball game, played outside ALLOT, visited with neighbors, slept little, and really had a great week and a half. OH, I also got to deal with the glucose tolerance tests over that week and a half too - is there really ever a "good" time to do those tests???

I am very thankful to have a quieter week. Honestly, Lydia enjoyed every single event but she is also really enjoying quiet time to play in the basement, cuddle, and read books this week!

Baseball game. I am skeptical that Lydia realized there was a game going on but Skittles were very tasty. And meeting all of Dad's co-workers was fun (i.e. being admired and played with for several hours by all the people around us!).

We also made it to the beach. After our whirlwind week we seriously considered cancelling the trip and having a quiet couple days at home but it was great to get away and enjoy the beach :) Lydia is already talking about when she can go back and stay for many many nights! She is such an easy traveler now that we may schedule another weekend beach trip before the summer is over.

After bouncing between the pool and the beach over and over for 3 or 4 hours, we all took great naps. And Lydia took a fantastic nap! A sleeping picture of Lydia I did not even know that was possible!!!!!

Power food for the beach!

Apparently the Kindle without Internet, is very frustrating. Lydia was literally pulling her hair out in the backseat saying "Kindle is not working right". The woes of technology... I am sure in the future she will lament to her own children how she used to not have Internet in the car ;)

Beach Trip (Dad's Camera)

Our dear daughter who never watches tv was quite enamored with Mickey Mouse... Reminder why she doesn't normally watch tv!

Beach Trip (Mom's Camera!)

Ready to go now!

Please Dad!

Seriously, I will be good in the car. Let's go!

Jumping on the Hotel Bed...

Needing a break after all that jumping!

We had gone out to lunch and dinner and both restuarants did not have fruit . All she wanted was fruit and we eventually just stopped at Chick-fil-A.

And a milkshake!

After the beach.

Begging to go back to the beach please!

Her shorts were FILLED with sand!

The BEACH!

Honestly, life has been a bit chaotic here and I just have not gotten much blogging done lately. BUT Lydia finally went to the beach. I know, I know, I know. We live 2 hours from the beach. She really would have enjoyed the beach last year but now that she is almost two we finally got the child to the beach. Success!

We went all the way down to Charleston (which is almost 6 hours away but really Charleston is just soooo pretty and we have some great friends down there!).

Ready for the beach. She has no idea what to expect but is skipping her nap and is quite excited to be  "going".

And she was delighted with the beach.

The sand was delightful.

The waves were "FUN"

And sand toys are also super exciting (seriously need to get her some because she really does enjoy stealing other children's sand toys!).

Lydia's favorite new words "ocean please"

We got to visit with some good friends. Sadly I did not take any pictures of the grown ups... But Lydia and Raegan were kindred spirits.
