Happy Eight Months!

Happy Eight Months Isaac! Our little guy is filled with smiles and giggles...

Always watching Lydia!

Likes to eat his toys:

Would prefer to not smile on command:

But will appease Mom if he must:

But a monkey is more interesting:

Got two teeth (so now our feet have bite marks!).

We are always moving:

Isaac is fun to have around and we are glad to have him around :)

Oh, Isaac

Isaac has a new trick and really just needs to be documented because one day I will laugh about it (I am not really laughing yet!). Isaac likes to nurse until he gets milk coming and then very quickly he pulls off, lays back in my arms, mouth opens, and milk sprays all over Isaac (and me!). Oh, and he laughs hysterically.

The first time I laughed.

The second time (and many many times after that) I thought that the flow was too fast so I problem solved that to no avail. And if the flow was too fast wouldn't the baby cry not laugh hysterically???

So I have come to the conclusion that Isaac thinks this is really really really funny. Sick sense of humor little man ;)

Happy 5 Months

We made it to 5 months! Whoohoo. Almost to 6 months so that is worth a party right???

18lbs and some change.

Not eating solids yet (not quite interested).

Loves his big sister and being outside.

He has outgrown his infant car seat and has moved into a convertible seat (this was bittersweet for Mom because when the baby falls asleep in the car it is nice to just move the baby inside or pop his seat on the stroller!).

He outgrew the baby bath seat and got promoted to a toddler bath seat and taking baths with Lydia (hurray!!!!!!).

He outgrew the bouncy seat and got moved to a high chair for when we eat meals (seeing a theme???). Yes, we put the bouncy seat on the table because Isaac likes to be part of the family when we eat dinner. Anyway, he is equally happy in the high chair with a bunch of toys - just gotta be part of the family!

We like our little guy and can't wait until he grows up a little more :)

Isaac is in LOVE with his big sister. (Really every family should have an older child to entertain the baby - would make babies so much easier!).

Happy 4 Months!

Isaac is officially 1/3 of the way through his first year of life. We are enjoying his baby days but really really really looking forward to playing! James is eager to play chase and run like crazy people through the woods. I am looking forward to interacting with this little man. We are seeing glimpses of his personality and I think Isaac is going to keep us laughing ;)

We let him sit on the trampoline this week (no bouncing!!). We were outside playing with Lydia and well holding 17lbs of baby is hard so he got to lay on the trampoline and look at the sky (well really chew on his hands and watch Lydia play!).

Isaac is up to 17lbs and 9oz. He is 26.5 inches. 95% percentile for both height and weight. Can we say quarterback???

Isaac's Week

Isaac is not a huge fan of his tummy. Sometimes he will put up with it (as long as he has access to his hand - no hand = no happiness!).

BUT the bouncy seat is happiness! I think he would spend hours in there. Infact dinner time, he typically does spend a large chunk of time in his seat AND loves watching the commotion around him!

AND he figured out how to get toys into his mouth. Watch out Lydia ;)

Lydia took this picture of her "baby brother". Pretty much sums up how much Isaac adores his big sister!

Happy 3 Months Isaac!

Isaac turned 3 months last week. To celebrate he decided to sleep, poop, and eat. Oh and enjoy a little more awake time in the evenings so he happily goes to bed early (mom and dad LOVE this development!).

He is enjoying sitting up - with help. He has pondered rolling over but when he fusses more than a few seconds his favorite sister rushes in to gently flip him over. So we don't predict movement any time soon for Isaac.

If You Are Happy and You Know It, Grow Another Chin (yes, mom is kinda mean!),

"I will EAT the monkey".

"Fine I will just sit her and look at the monkey".

Lydia is super excited Isaac can play toys. Isaac doesn't seem to care if he plays with toys or stares at the ceiling ;)

"Mom, do you remember that baby carrier? I like to be carried around rather than pushed in a stroller. Strollers are for babies".

Isaac's Week

Isaac and I made an agreement this week. If he only wakes up once between the hours of 11pm and 6am, then he can wear comfy pjs ALL day. If he wakes up more than once between those hours, then Lydia or I get to choose his clothes. I don't really think he cares about this agreement so still looking for what will motivate Isaac to not be having a growth spurt every single night ;)

"I Like Hanging with my Aunt". Since Isaac has never met any of his aunts I don't know how he can really wear that BUT clothes that fit rock at our house right now!

Cuteness!

"Mom peek a boo was totally last week"!

Happy Two Months Isaac!

Since I don't get the baby book updated very often Isaac's 2nd month stats. (Sorry Isaac, you are the second child. You have already experienced many things your sister did not experience until she was much older! You all are different people and having different experiences and I don't feel guilty about this! So enjoy being taken to parks and children's museums and you can just read the blog to learn about your infant days and I will make an effort to fill out the pretty book for you. No promises though!).

Isaac has used his short time here to grow ALLOT. He is 13lbs and 14ounces. 25 inches long. He has already outgrown size one diapers (which is a shame because I got a sweet deal on size one diapers and couldn't just exchange for a bigger size!). Isaac has outgrown most 3 month size clothes - some still sorta fit but not really!

We have a smiling giggly boy who has learned how to get attention quick in this house. LAUGH! From time to time we hear Isaac laughing and everybody runs over to chat with him. His eyes light up and he is thrilled to have the attention. Isaac thinks bath time is the greatest invention EVER. He splashes and splashes and splashes. Very peaceful about bath time and lets Lydia wash him (he really just thinks she is the coolest person in the house).

We have decided Isaac may become the family comedian but we will have to see.

Isaac's Week

Why buy toys when one could just put up a Christmas tree??? And yes, he spends allot of happy hours laying under, near, admiring from afar, etc... the tree! Best toy EVER!

Decided to play tag with Dad (he actually decided this week Dad is a pretty cool person and puckers up his lip when James walks in the room and doesn't chat with him).

SMILE!

Big guy sleeps!

Isaac Wants Popcorn

Isaac is the most laid back member of our house. He is pretty calm, cool, and collected 95% of the time. This weekend he was cuddling with me and taking a nap. Sound asleep and snoring! James and I were eating popcorn and well this says it all:

How can you smell the wonderful smell of popcorn and not eat it though! I think I might be a bit distraught if I could smell popcorn, hear somebody crunching, and not be able to also eat popcorn. Being the weird parents that we are, our son was crying and distraught and we just had to take a picture!

And really this is how Isaac usually is:

So maybe that is why we had to take the picture of the sad little boy ;)
