Happy 4 Months!

Isaac is officially 1/3 of the way through his first year of life. We are enjoying his baby days but really really really looking forward to playing! James is eager to play chase and run like crazy people through the woods. I am looking forward to interacting with this little man. We are seeing glimpses of his personality and I think Isaac is going to keep us laughing ;)

We let him sit on the trampoline this week (no bouncing!!). We were outside playing with Lydia and well holding 17lbs of baby is hard so he got to lay on the trampoline and look at the sky (well really chew on his hands and watch Lydia play!).

Isaac is up to 17lbs and 9oz. He is 26.5 inches. 95% percentile for both height and weight. Can we say quarterback???

Isaac's Week

Isaac and I made an agreement this week. If he only wakes up once between the hours of 11pm and 6am, then he can wear comfy pjs ALL day. If he wakes up more than once between those hours, then Lydia or I get to choose his clothes. I don't really think he cares about this agreement so still looking for what will motivate Isaac to not be having a growth spurt every single night ;)

"I Like Hanging with my Aunt". Since Isaac has never met any of his aunts I don't know how he can really wear that BUT clothes that fit rock at our house right now!

Lydia's Week

Lydia was all about the Letter L, lions, and PLAYING!!!!!!

Wow, Lydia is doing her own hair lately. I go with it most days but after awhile she just needs mom to brush her hair!

Lydia's project at MOPS. She is praying for different friends and I thought that was cute.

Drawing Lions!

Lydia's photo shoot - DeAnna can also draw lions.

Sunday Morning Photo Shoot

We were having an easy morning on Sunday and so Lydia got to pick out clothes for her and her brother (she always picks out her own clothes but usually is not given free reign in her closet!). And well, sorry Isaac - one day you can stand up and say "no thank you Lydia".

Morning Smiles! (And sitting up with minimal help).

So so so so happy!

We even miraculously made it to church on time. AND Isaac was successful in his class this week (he was much happier at church being able to play rather than being cuddled!).

Our Week

We had a tough week last week (can we say crabby not napping baby???). Amazing how one 15lb baby can change the entire house and the week that we all have!

Lydia did get to do some projects though. She made a cow, did finger painting, colored every spare piece of paper she could lay her hands on, cutting practice, and...
Dot art...

Painting...

Letter Maze with Dot Art Paint...

And mean mom moment - she got her arm stuck and I took a picture. I should not but ;)

A Date Night with Mom (and she got to choose the destination and chose McDonald's' - I must love her!)
Eventually Isaac slept. Yes, it was a memorable occassion last week!

Isaac learned to take a bottle with less drama (he has taken them but they have not gone down easily!). It was apparently DRAMA. Isaac played every baby trick he could think of but James did prevail and Isaac will take a bottle now a little easier than before.

And after a particular difficult day, I was reading a parenting book and this quote was in the introduction:

It was just the laugh James and I were badly needing!

Sharing Toys

"I will help him bounce" says Lydia.

"I will bounce myself Lydia", says Isaac.

"I think Faith (baby doll) would have more fun in the seat", says Lydia. (Isaac was done!)

"WAIT, I really don't want to share my toy", says Isaac. (And yes, he whined and had a moment until Lydia finished playing with the doorway jumper...).

And so begins learning to share toys with each other!

Isaac's Week

Isaac spent his week sick! Its hard being the little brother with a family who shares everything with you (even those things that you do not need).

Initially Isaac thought getting his nose cleaned out was the funniest thing EVER. That humor sadly lasted less time than the cold.

And he slept. Really really really well. I did not know it was possible for a baby to actually sleep while sick.

Eventually he felt better. Sadly not 100% yet and we are still waiting to see our smiley baby again. Soon :)

Lydia's Week

I keep forgetting to take pictures! BUT Lydia was busy last week. We read tons and tons of books all day every day. She did many messy painting projects. She was the queen of stamping!

We taped the letters of her name up to the door and she LOVED finding letter stickers to add to each of the letter (so for her taped up letter L she was hunting for "L" stickers).

She has continued to be obsessed with her sensory boxes. Give her a few minutes alone and I can pretty much guarantee she will be in the kitchen scooping and pouring! (One day we will clean up under the fridge and I think there will be a pound of beads...).

We taped letter "J" all over the kitchen floor. Lydia has spent (is still spending!) many happy hours doing jumping jacks on each letter J. Jumping from "J" to "J". Tracing all the letter "J" with her finger. Basically using up all that extra energy from being inside in all this cold weather.

Lydia's Listening Ears. Yes, I took her to Target like that. Nope, people did not seem to notice! hahaha - love her :)

Wildcat Fan

I have no idea if the Kentucky Wildcats are winning or losing this year but Isaac is a fan (for another couple days until he outgrows the outfit!).

First Cold

I have a feeling Isaac is going to be the life of any party. Just seems like this may be his personality. Obviously he is still young to make that declaration but...

During and after giggles while getting his nose cleaned out. I did not know it was possible for a baby to enjoy that process much less laugh through out.

I thought he was getting sick just because he was being a turkey with naps (only napping when being held!). Atleast he is cute while being held ;)
