Marbles!

How do you define love??? When a certain 3 year old with a brand new brother has been asking to go to Marbles for weeks and weeks and Mom bundles the newborn up and takes them both to Marbles alone. That is love!

I was a little hesitant about taking both solo but we can't stay home 24-7 either. SO I did it. And my conclusion, we can totally do Marbles again. I thought that I had timed our event so Isaac would sleep and he was just toooo excited (and newborns are known for not being predictable about what they will do next!). The colors, noise, an excited sister the 4 week old stayed awake for the majority of the visit. I was shocked!

Lydia loved the new exhibit and spent most of her time sitting in a helicopter pretending to be a newscaster. Or maybe the director - she likes to be the one in charge!

Helicopter AND puppy

Yes, Lydia dressed herself. Yes, she is wearing a Christmas shirt and ballerina dress with cowboy boots. Quite the statement ;)

Eventually the overly tired newborn gave in and slept (but not without a fight!).

Marbles Fun!

We just got a free Monday morning to go to Marbles during their "group free" time. Oh what a treat! Lydia played and played and played and thoroughly enjoyed the small crowd of people. She usually is overwhelmed with the huge group of people and only plays 2 - 2.5 hours. But she totally could have played longer - next time we will go earlier!

We were playing and I didn't take pictures but I did need to be an audience (and got to sit down for a moment!). A glimpse at the inner workings of Lydia's brain.

The CowBOY Ballerina (there is no such thing as cowgirls incase you are wondering).

The best part about Marbles - an exhausted little girl!

Hmmm....

Wouldn't it be great if there was an edger that children could use that could edge the weeds????

All About Engineering at the Children's Museum

Last week we went to Marbles. After exploring all the big exhibits (and the crowd was intense!) we meandered over to a quiet room that had these huge foam blocks that we could build with. Lydia and I quickly got to building a ball ramp.

Lydia and I try at building a ball ramp...
As Lydia and I are hard at work, I realized James had gotten very quiet and was hard at work too.

James Ball Ramp
Can you tell who is the geek out of the three of us???

Eventually Lydia karate chopped her father's ball ramp that had turned into a cannon (have I mentioned how much James is looking forward to a little boy???). And then James decided to build a car with Lydia that turned out super cool!

They were both quite tickled with their car! James would build it and Lydia would drive the car into a wall and watch it smash. Then they repeated. We spent allot of time in this quiet room playing ;)

Children's Museum!

Lydia and James have gone to the museum multiple times recently just the two of them. Dad world to go to the museum equals donuts after or fancy breakfast out before hand. That is the way Dad rolls!

I took Lydia to the museum. She was excited to go to the museum but she defiantly was missing her Dad to play with AND her special sugary breakfast treats! haha

Driving the School Bus!

Dancing

"I See YOU!".

Dancing while pretending to be a broadcaster for the hockey game. Really Lydia just enjoyed controlling the music and shaking her hips ;)

Fun and Busy Adventures!

Maybe the reason Lydia was under the weather was we were super busy last week ;) She had a morning of fun at a gymnastics place. Filled with jumping and twirling. Running. Leaping. And ofcourse lots of giggles. Sadly I totally forgot my camera. But the pictures probably would have been a blurry mess because Lydia never slowed down while she there!

The next day we went to Marbles. Much to our delight one of the rooms had been re-done. That little bit of change fueled Lydia's interest in the older exhibits in the "new room". Believe me we have played hockey at Marbles before! But it was NEW last week. Hahaha

Marbles

Every time we go to Marbles (children's museum) I am always surprised at what Lydia chooses to play with. Last week we went and Lydia spent a loooooonnnnnngggggg time picking out a pizza from the "recipe" cards, building the pizza, baking the pizza, boxing the pizza up, and then putting everything away. Only to repeat again! Lydia happiness ;)
