Grandma's Balloon

The best babysitter EVER. A BIG giant balloon. 2 days of entertainment for Lydia. Isaac is working almost a week and is still fascinated with the balloon. Long live the balloon!

Lydia's Week

Lydia had a most delightful week (really all her days are pretty picturesque if you ask me!). She was given a gingerbread man to decorate. OH MY! What a wonderful snack at 8:30 in the morning ;)

Some icing did go on the ginger bread man!

And a few candies ;)

After she recovered from that sugar high, I let her decorate a letter M with marshmallows. Snack number 2 i believe happened around 10:30 that morning. Oh well! Happy little girl ;)

Lydia's photography of my "helping her"

Great focus. I think she mentioned something about I wasn't doing it right...

Painting the "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" Mouse.

If you give the little girl a mouse to paint, that reminds her she needs a cookie.

Happy 3 Months Isaac!

Isaac turned 3 months last week. To celebrate he decided to sleep, poop, and eat. Oh and enjoy a little more awake time in the evenings so he happily goes to bed early (mom and dad LOVE this development!).

He is enjoying sitting up - with help. He has pondered rolling over but when he fusses more than a few seconds his favorite sister rushes in to gently flip him over. So we don't predict movement any time soon for Isaac.

If You Are Happy and You Know It, Grow Another Chin (yes, mom is kinda mean!),

"I will EAT the monkey".

"Fine I will just sit her and look at the monkey".

Lydia is super excited Isaac can play toys. Isaac doesn't seem to care if he plays with toys or stares at the ceiling ;)

"Mom, do you remember that baby carrier? I like to be carried around rather than pushed in a stroller. Strollers are for babies".

Super Hero!

Lydia has found a favorite book at the library "Super Sister". The premise of the book is a little girl who is a super hero AND a super helper with her mom who is going to have a baby soon. "Super Sister to the Rescue" is Lydia's new favorite quote. Which I use to my advantage most of the time. This week Super Sister transformed into a Super Hero (and a Super Hero must have a cape!).

Usually Super Hero Lydia has her arms up over her head as if she is flying (yes, really!).

This should not remind me of this but this move reminds me of a roach that is almost dead but not quite :)

Super Hero Lydia's view from the back. I can not imagine the comments we got as we left the grocery and library but...

Isaac's Week

Isaac and I made an agreement this week. If he only wakes up once between the hours of 11pm and 6am, then he can wear comfy pjs ALL day. If he wakes up more than once between those hours, then Lydia or I get to choose his clothes. I don't really think he cares about this agreement so still looking for what will motivate Isaac to not be having a growth spurt every single night ;)

"I Like Hanging with my Aunt". Since Isaac has never met any of his aunts I don't know how he can really wear that BUT clothes that fit rock at our house right now!

Cuteness!

"Mom peek a boo was totally last week"!

Lydia's Week

Lydia was all about the Letter L, lions, and PLAYING!!!!!!

Wow, Lydia is doing her own hair lately. I go with it most days but after awhile she just needs mom to brush her hair!

Lydia's project at MOPS. She is praying for different friends and I thought that was cute.

Drawing Lions!

Lydia's photo shoot - DeAnna can also draw lions.

Sunday Morning Photo Shoot

We were having an easy morning on Sunday and so Lydia got to pick out clothes for her and her brother (she always picks out her own clothes but usually is not given free reign in her closet!). And well, sorry Isaac - one day you can stand up and say "no thank you Lydia".

Morning Smiles! (And sitting up with minimal help).

So so so so happy!

We even miraculously made it to church on time. AND Isaac was successful in his class this week (he was much happier at church being able to play rather than being cuddled!).

Our Week

We had a tough week last week (can we say crabby not napping baby???). Amazing how one 15lb baby can change the entire house and the week that we all have!

Lydia did get to do some projects though. She made a cow, did finger painting, colored every spare piece of paper she could lay her hands on, cutting practice, and...
Dot art...

Letter Maze with Dot Art Paint...

And mean mom moment - she got her arm stuck and I took a picture. I should not but ;)

A Date Night with Mom (and she got to choose the destination and chose McDonald's' - I must love her!)
Eventually Isaac slept. Yes, it was a memorable occassion last week!

Isaac learned to take a bottle with less drama (he has taken them but they have not gone down easily!). It was apparently DRAMA. Isaac played every baby trick he could think of but James did prevail and Isaac will take a bottle now a little easier than before.

And after a particular difficult day, I was reading a parenting book and this quote was in the introduction:

It was just the laugh James and I were badly needing!
