Happy Easter!

Let's go find EGGS!!!!!

Yes, a basket filled with new books and a toy. Isaac prefers the basket. Should have known!

Yummy breakfast danish.

My new favorite picture of Isaac!

Sweetness :)

Isaac's Week

Isaac has moved from playing with food to I think (judging from diapers) eating some food. Apples, cucumbers, and carrots have been interesting things to play and eat with.

Toys are fun at meal times too. Or when Lydia is doing hour #4 of projects for the day!

Isaac was given an excersaucer. He is a happy man!

And actually both children have really enjoyed the excersaucer ;)

Halfway to ONE!!!!! Whoohoo (I like the baby days but I LOVE one year olds - my favorite age!).

Busy Bag Swap 2014

Busy bag swap time again! We have done two previous swaps and have loved each of them. Infact we still have and play with the activities. But we have hit a new season in life and could use some variety!

What is a busy bag you ask?
Each Ziploc bag is filled with a simple and age appropriate activity that helps build fine motor skills, encourages learning, and most of all keeps little hands busy. Our activities in the past have gone on road trips, doctor's offices, entertained while Mom needed 10 minutes, and have also been a loved activity to do with Mom or Dad. Without a doubt we enjoy these activities every single day!

The details of this particular swap:
  • The activities are below and are most appropriate for older preschoolers.
  • Each activity should cost approx. $1.00/bag (approx $20 commitment)
  • Each activity should be bagged in a Ziploc bag with instructions.
  • Last day to sign up is April 25th.
  • Busy bag assignments will be emailed out by April 28th.
  • Participants are responsible for bringing the busy bags to my house by May 16th
OR bring to the busy bag social on May 17th at my house at 9 AM (no children please)
I live near the intersection of Lynn and Lead Mine Roads in North Raleigh - exact address will be emailed.
  • Busy bags will be ready to be picked up after the social on May 17th.
We would love to have you participate, simply email DeAnna at DeAnnaStojan@gmail.com. Include in your email:
  • Your Name
  • Top three activities that you would like to do
(I will try to make sure each person gets an activity of his/her choice.)
  • Tell a local friend or two - the sooner we get to 20 participants the sooner we can PLAY!
This is a local busy bag swap to Raleigh, NC area.

The real excitement - the busy bag activities!

Letters:
Spill the Letters
(This is an Etsy item that is no longer sold BUT very self explanatory. Lowercase and uppercase game cards. Stones with letters written on them - or another object!).
Wild Animal Beginning and Ending Clip Cards
Letter Match
Spin a Sight Word
(be creative to keep this under $1.00 - maybe include in the instructions a note about the magna doodle or clay, possibly include a home made notebook to practice writing, etc...).
Letter Tracing
(be creative to keep this under $1.00 - maybe 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet of paper with many letters, slide in sheet protectors, and dry erase markers to reuse OR another idea that includes tracing letters!).
I Can Spell

Numbers:
Airplane Addition
Submarine Subtraction
Tower Counting
Matching Numbers and Quantity
Number Line
(Number 1 on this website)

Lydia's Week

As always Lydia thoroughly enjoys all her projects (some things never change!).

We made a gooey bag of paint to play with for several days. So fun!

Oh, and some letter B projects :)

There is a bug on my slide and the bug looks like this... Makes sense right?

Oh, the bunny!

Lydia has gotten a promotion in our family. We have talked it up, the date was picked, and Lydia became a "bigger girl". Drumroll please: Lydia has chores, opportunity to earn money, AND a vacume.

New Chore Chart

"It is my own vacume".

"And I can charge the vacume battery???"

"I think I will play instead."

"I am scared of the vacume". Personally I thought that was unique. hahaha

Conquered her "fear"...
