Pillows

James and I got a new comforter for our bed and many many pillows. So fluffy and fun. James has taken to pillow arranging every single (yes, every night!). So a few of his arrangements.

First Day...

...Of A Care Free Childhood!
Well, maybe not care free (although she has a sweet life!).

I saw all the pictures all over the Internet of everybody's first day of school pictures. And I figured you, Lydia, needed a first day picture too :)

Hedgehog Craft and Amusement Park

Isaac has discovered that he likes crafting (allot!). We made hedgehogs. You ask why? Well, we read a book about a hedgehog and then we talked about the hedgehog. And then we did a search for a hedgehog to color and saw a hedgehog craft so we made a hedgehog. Doesn't everybody's house work that way???

Later that day we went to an amusement park with James coworkers. We played mini golf (well, maybe more like soccer but everybody had fun). The kids went on a mini carousel. The perfect activity for Isaac and Lydia was really really excited about the carousel ;) I should have taken a picture because they were adorable on it! Later James and Lydia rode the go-carts and I actually took some pictures.

Tap Shoes and Library Story Time

Isaac thinks the world of Lydia (and I know Lydia thinks Isaac is the coolest kid around town!). All through out story time Isaac kept scooting over to his sister and just putting a hand on her.  It was cute ;)

"Lydia lets dance together!"

"I will hold you tight Isaac".

Lydia is taking a tap class and "needed" tap shoes (need and want is a lesson we need to work on!).

I think mom is brave to have tap shoes in the house ;)

Morning Walk and History Museum

Lydia is a busy Mommy (and never even broke a sweat on this summer morning!).

Isaac and Mom posed for pictures

The history museum has been redone (this may have happened years ago it has been awhile since we have been!) and is super fun for young children now. Lydia enjoyed the early American history exhibit and milking the cows. I know how much that girl drinks milk and it may be a good thing that she does not have to milk a cow to get her milk anymore ;)

Dear Lydia and Isaac:

Lydia and Isaac, let me just preface this with you all probably will not remember these three weeks and we worked really hard to make this chunk of time as easy as possible on you all. You all had an awesome Grandma who died. In a way, I think it is good that you all probably won't remember all that you saw and watched. On the other hand, your Grandma loved you both so much and was disappointed that she could not be here on earth to watch you all grow up. I have saved the blog entries and I think one day you all may enjoy looking back and reading the things you do not remember. Anyway, this was a tough couple weeks but you all have been loved and well taken care of as we took care of your Grandma and celebrated her life. (And I will be honest I took very few pictures - kinda chaotic and emotional couple weeks!).

Isaac was a trooper who was teething, not sleeping, and being lovingly introduced to many people he did not like (other than mom and dad in this season of Isaac's life he did not like others). Lydia loved the extra play dates with friends and was the life of the party when she was near Grandma and/or extended family.

We tried to keep life normal for you all as much as possible. And you all happily indulged your mom in many crazy ideas. Like S'mores after bedtime and inside ;)

And extra cuddles when a baby boy should be in bed. But really look at the cuteness ;)

Your dad and I decided to take on a puzzle (we don't know why we did this but it looked like fun!).

Mom was supposed to be fixing dinner and instead we cuddled on the couch and watched a show - thanks guys for your patience :)

"No pictures Mom!"

Isaac mastered rolling over - finally - and then sitting up!

I took out my frustrations on neighbors who will not clean up after their animals... Mature I know ;)

Lydia got to go to the eye doctor and we learned Lydia just likes to have her eyes close to paper and her eyes are perfectly fine. We are hoping Lydia got her father's eyes!

Lydia and I spent days and days and days (seriously!) making this very fancy and time consuming danish. The danish was very tasty!

We discovered that both of you LOVE wheelchairs. And that Isaac will go to any person as long as said person was willing to scoot around in a wheelchair.

Lydia loved Miss. Sharon!

Lydia started writing numbers (but it was a trick!).

Change of routine, teething, and many strangers make some of us crabby :(

Many strangers and lots of extra attention make some of us excited!

After your Grandma died, your cousins came to visit. Lydia was soooooo excited to see the cousins and spent quite awhile picking out the perfect toys to play with. But in the end the cousins enjoyed running outside, playing for 5 minutes, running inside, playing 5 minutes, and thoroughly enjoy being with each other! Isaac you tolerated the cousins much like you tolerated everybody else (I am hoping this is a short season in your life!). There were many other people who came to visit. I should have taken pictures but I did not - we can leave it at your grandma was very loved and there were many many people who came to visit during these couple weeks.

I found a cool new health food store that had cheap bananas for smoothies and cheap coconut oil. Yep, your dad took a day off work before the funeral and asked me what I wanted to do and exploring a new health food store was the top priority. (Your dad is a good guy!).

Lydia and Bethany were joined at the hip. I would overhear the girls telling each other that "my Grandma (or Gram Gram depending on the girl) died" followed by the other girl hugging and saying "I am so sorry for your loss". The girls were very cute and I think enjoyed having somebody to talk to who was going through a similar thing.

Isaac has no clue who all these kids are or what is going on but anytime spent at the park is AWESOME!

Oh, the joys of traffic in Wake Forest!

You all received many new toys - maybe you all will remember Christmas in August ;)

Isaac is dressed so cute to take a nap and come late to the funeral. Lydia is dressed to go spend the afternoon playing (Lydia got to choose her events for the afternoon and she probably had the best day of us all!).

The week had been exhausting.

Uncle Paul came to visit too...
So you all had an awesome Grandma who we talk about often and Lydia enjoys filling the "Grandma box" with memories. And if you ever wonder why you eat apples with cheese - you can remember your Grandma (I never understood why she ate apples and cheese that way but she did and Lydia loves that snack so I bet Isaac you also will learn to love apples and cheese too!).

I wish she could have gotten to spoil you both rotten because she thoroughly enjoyed every minute she had with you all.
