Isaac Learns to Potty

I am sure there are parenting books that say to not potty train a child a couple days before Christmas. However, Isaac wanted to and I said sure why not. We were home. Our "extras" were cancelled. We weren't doing school. And he wanted to.

His sticker chart... Ten stickers and he can have an icecream party!

Drinking celebratory smoothies because well we should celebrate pee in the potty.

Obviously we have some work to do on growing up apparently...

And then life got a little busy and I forgot to take pictures...

Isaac earned his ice cream party in three days.

He was doing really great with the entire potty thing so we tried underwear. He started prancing around thrilled to be wearing underwear and then peed. Obviously underwear (even the training underwear) is not that absorbant. He looked up at my "why mom". We learned about underwear is not a diaper and he needs to go to the potty even when wearing underwear. After that, he mastered the underwear thing.

This week we kindly bought a child/adult potty toilet seat. Paid extra for this wonderful invention. Guess what - Isaac says, "big boy now" and uses the adult ring. We did need a toilet seat for that particular toilet so not a total waste (a $12 waste that we will add to Isaac's tab!).

He is doing well though. And quite proud of himself (as he should be!).
