James has worked from home for several years so Saturdays have been much like any other day (get up, do the breakfast thing, James goes downstairs to work, Lydia and I have a normal day, dinner time we spend together, time with dad after dinner, James goes back to work, and Lydia goes to bed). Sundays we go to church in the morning but then the afternoon is the same as every other afternoon (other than I may take a nap!).
James started his new job last week. So we had our first weekend in a long time without work. WOW! I know why people enjoy the weekends (I have always kinda dreaded them to be honest - more of the same but without the luxury of mom and baby things to do - activities are much more family orientated on the weekend).
This weekend, there was no work outside of the house to be done. Saturday was an all day play day. Sunday we went to church and got to nap in the afternoon.
James had the opportunity to be bored (he even unloaded the dishwasher!). Lydia had the opportunity to play with dad. I had the opportunity for a break!!!!!
BUT now it is Monday and I realize why people say "It's a Monday". Lydia is missing her dad (let's face it I can't drop everything to play with her every time she whines - with two parents caring for the baby she got every need met in record time!). After the whirlwind of activities, one of us is a bit tired and whining.
With the memories of theweekend still fresh in both of our minds, we are both just a bit sad. So we are going to make this Monday memorable and go play in the pool - tough life but somebody has to do it!
