Vacation!

Some families plan vacations and some families are a bit more spontaneous. We are falling in the spontaneous category right now ;) This week we took a last minute trip to Williamsburg and Great Wolf Lodge.

James took the kids for a long bike ride and I packed our bags, did laundry, cleaned, you know all those fun things!

We are discovering Lydia is an extrovert and her parents are defiantly not. So we have been being intentional at making sure she gets lots of time with friends (and quality mom and dad time!). Lydia got to take her cousin with her on vacation.

The Lone Wolf (he prefers life that way!).

We tried to get them all to pose for a picture. Between the excitement, giggles, three kids jumping on a stone hearth - we settled for a good enough picture!

On morning one the kids were awake so early! I took the kids on a doughnut adventure and James got an extra hour to sleep (I should get awesome wife award right???). At 6:15 we were able to get an amazing view of the water park being inspected and cleaned. As we were eating breakfast we got to watch the water park be turned on! Excitement I know.

We also took a walk through the hotel. There was a photo shoot set up and I decided to try again for a decent picture. The girls were very accommodating of this idea - a girls only version!

After many successful girls only pictures, I thought we could include Isaac. I mean really he is the one who woke us all up at 5:30 AM - he should be the happiest one of us all! The girls were less than enthusiastic to take a picture with a BOY even if he is your cousin or brother.

One girl obliged. Sorta ;)

Then we talked (no pictures about that!). Did you know God's children are kind to each other? Regardless of gender???

So this is as good as that attempt got but 2 out of the 3 are smiling. And I should have released Isaac from captivity (but at 6:30AM I wasn't too energetic for chasing the wide awake toddler!).

Home Sweet Home! All is well in the world again.
